We worked with Nicolas over a two year period where we started to ‘stabilize’ a 1930’s farmhouse and convert it into a workshop for the property. Nicolas gutted the house down to the dirt and log frame and rebuilt it with timbers and a real stone foundation. Then we decided to move forward with a complete renovation, opening up the floor plan and modernizing the entire house. With a very basic set of plans in order to get permits, we collaborated on weekends to achieve a vision for the home that evolved over time. We were very fortunate to work with someone like Nicolas who listened and shared our vision. He also provided valuable input and creative ideas to achieve the end result. We used reclaimed materials to achieve a modern, yet rustic, aesthetic.
We also wanted to build a barn on the property and Nicolas suggested buying an existing barn and dismantling it and transporting it to the property to be reconstructed. We agreed and couldn’t be more pleased. We wanted a bigger barn than the structure we bought and Nicolas was able to add two wings that can’t be discerned from the original structure in their post and beam construction with real mortise and tenon joinery. It is truly a beautiful building and the envy of the neighbors!
Nic is very capable of unique restoration and rehabilitation, as well as any renovation you might have.
